Summer Intern

This summer we welcome Melissa Foucar to Magdalena as an intern for The Fatted Calf. Melissa is from Camarillo, California and is a junior at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo where she is majoring in Animal Science and working the Cal Poly Meat Laboratory. Her main responsibility this summer will be to develop leadership training materials in Spanish based on the Seven Habits curriculum. Melissa will also be translating meat science teaching materials to Spanish as well as training the youth at Casa Vida y Esperanza as they prepare their horse and lamb projects for the annual fair La Exposición. Thank you to her meat science professor Dr. Bob Delmore for making the connection, thank you to Melissa’s parents for their faith and confidence, and thank you to Melissa for volunteering her time to help further our mission of providing training and career development to the fatherless and less-privileged. We hope and believe that this will be mutually beneficial to Melissa as well as to those we serve.
