The 2018 Summer Interns are on-site!

The Fatted Calf Interns have hit the ground running in preparation for Expo Esperanza 2018!

Janelle Hueners, Megan Popkes, Adaven Scronce, Lauce Colon-Perez

Janelle Hueners, University of Minnesota

Janelle hails from the tiny town of Lindstrom, Minnesota and is currently pursuing a degree in Agricultural Education and minoring in Animal Science and International Agriculture at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities.  This summer she will be teaching horse, chicken, and gardening classes and assisting with woodworking.

Megan Popkes, South Dakota State University

Megan Popkes is from Ellsworth, Minnesota and currently attends South Dakota State University where she majors in Animal Science and minors in Leadership and Management of Nonprofit Organizations.  This summer she is leading the cattle class and assisting with chickens. She is also teaching photography, sewing and theater classes. 

Adaven Scronce, Oklahoma State University

Adaven grew up in Pahrump, NV. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2017 with a degree in Animal Science, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in International Agricultural with a focus on extension education and outreach at Oklahoma State University.  This summer she is teaching sheep production, sheep showmanship, and woodworking and assisting with the cattle, theater, and salsa making classes.

Lauce Colón-Pérez, La Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Mayagüez

Lauce was born and raised in the northern coastal city of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He is currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Agricultural Education with a minor in Writing and Communication in English.  This summer he is in charge of the Oral Interpretation, Demonstration and Dog Obedience Classes, and is assisting with Horses.
