RAV October 2017

The month of October was a month full of doing what must be done. Sometimes, during the busier months what is necessary, but not urgent gets pushed to the back burner for a while. Thankfully, there are also slower months in which such tasks can be completed.

Another calf was born this month. Mom and baby are looking great!

And if you'll remember, the group of Limosin mothers with their first calves were transported to the big mountain ranch, Rancho Ojo de Agua. Two different times this month, Limón had an opportunity to ride out and check how they are adjusting to the new terrain. We are happy to report that all are doing well!

The participants enter their projects

Like projects in the animal categories, Static projects are judged by volunteers from the community.  On the first day of Expo, the projects are judged, ribbons awarded and displayed for viewing for the final day of Expo.

Creative Arts include: Tri-dimensional, Sewing, Photography, and Scrap-booking projects

In the "Cooking" discipline, participants could enter their projects in Desserts, Cookies, Tortillas and Bread, or Salsa categories.

Entomology is a popular project in the Technology discipline.  Other projects in Technology include Agronomy, Mecatronics, and Industrial Arts.

In the Visual Arts discipline, participants can enter projects in Drawing, Colored pencil drawing, and Painting.

And awards are presented by the judge at the end of the day to the overall winners in each discipline.
