Emery Wilkerson, a Texas native, has volunteered for The Fatted Calf the month of March. Her interest in learning from The Fatted Calf is because she and her husband "desire to do something similar (to the TFC) for inner-city kids in the US."
One of Emery's main responsibilities has been initializing the cow herd data base using the Cow Sense Program for the cattle at Rancho Agua Viva.
While she was a grad student at the University of Lincoln - Nebraska, Emery taught kids through her "Seeds of Hope" project. Using that as a basis, Emery has compiled information and put together a format for a record book for Expo projects in Horticulture.
In addition to her main responsibilities, she has pitched in where help was needed at Carnisimo, Rancho Agua Viva, and Casa Vida y Esperanza.
Emery has her B.S. from Texas A&M and her Masters in Animal Science from University of Nebraska. She and her husband Andrew live in Port Orchard, Washington.
