Carnisimo Burgers - a Second Location

Productos Cárnicos la Misión (PCLM), the parent company of of Carnisimo, Carnisimo Burgers and Rancho Agua Viva, has opened the Carnisimo Burgers Food Truck in a neighboring community in the town of Santa Ana, Sonora MX. Santa Ana is located just 15 miles southwest of the original restaurant located in Magdalena de Kino.

“We wanted to expand the mission, putting a Christian business in that communty where we can disciple and reach new employees, and spread the gospel through tracts and having presence there”, says Jonathan Aupperle, the manager of Carnisimo Burgers.

He adds, “We are a business that seeks to love and serve the neighbor and provide employment and good food to the local communities. Our location in Santa Ana is on a major highway where there is a lot of traffic. We also see it as a way to help employees grow. We’ve been able to give more responsibility to those currently working for us and have hired new employees.”

One of the employees, Karolina, started as a part-time employee at Carnisimo (meat processing facility) in 2015 while she was in college. In 2018 when Carnisimo Burgers opened, she started to work in the restaurant and now, since May of 2022, has major responsibilities with the food truck in Santa Ana. She starts her day at the Magdalena location to prep the ingredients, then drives to Santa Ana where she carries out the usual cleaning and opening responsibilities and tends to the diners. The food truck has 2 shifts of employees and is open from 12 pm to 10 pm 6 days a week.

When asked about her job, Karolina says, “Having more responsibility helps me a lot. I am acquiring more skills to deal with my co-workers and offer solutions. I like it because I can teach others everything I've learned over the years and it's satisfying to see how they can do it better. This position also helps me a lot to know how to manage a company and it’s employees since my future plans are to have my own company.”

Carnisimo Burgers buys all of the meat products from Carnisimo. Andy Ott, the manager of the meat processing facility says that all of the beef for the hamburgers is ground fresh and the Bombas, BBQ’s and chicken sandwiches, as well as the bacon are made in house specifically for the restaurant. Additionally the products are offered in a sales cooler for customers to purchase and take home.
